Midwest Burner events do not allow live animals at events unless it is a service animal. MWB values radical inclusion and access for all persons and permits animals qualifying as “Service Animals” as defined by the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA) to accompany a person with a disability.
All other animals, including pets and emotional support animals, are prohibited.
If a participant has a disability which requires a Service Animal, please submit notification to the Event Coordinators at least one month in advance of the event with the following details included.
- Full name of person with disability
- Name and species of the service animal
- Arrival and departure times of person and animal
- Specify the service/tasks that the animalis trained to provide. What task is the animal trained to provide. We would never ask someone to disclose a disability, but asking the tasks a service animal provides is within the legal requirements. At this time the ADA does not recognize emotional support animals.
We urge you to pre-register your animal to ensure timely gate approval.
The handler is responsible for caring for and supervising the service animal, which includes toileting, feeding, and grooming and veterinary care. This means animals must have up to date shot records, and you must bring enough food and water for the animal. The individual is also responsible for picking up and removing excrement from the premises in line with “Leave no Trace”.
If the animal is a disturbance or acts in a manner deemed “out of control”, the animal will be asked to remove from the premises. The animal must have a harness, tether, or leash, unless it interferes with the service provided.
If an individual attempt to bring in an animal without registering it, they will immediately be removed from the event.
These rules are in accordance with ADA guidelines, and are meant to protect the experience of all individuals. If you have any questions please contact
